Panganiban (Ret.), and Chief Justice Hilario G. Davide, Jr. (Ret.) come together to offer their prayers and respect and to view the remains of the late (Ret.) Supreme Court Associate Justice Abraham F. Sarmiento, Sr. in his residence in New Manila, Quezon City. Justice Sarmiento died last October 3 due to organ failure in Prague, Czech Republic, where he was visiting his daughter, Philippine Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Regina Irene P. Sarmiento. He would have turned 89 years old last October 8. He was the incumbent president of the Association of Retired Justices of the Supreme Court of the Philippines and regent of the University of the Philippines (U.P.) at the time of his death. He is survived by his children Mariano II, Regina Irene, and Eleuterio; and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
